BUYER ON THE FENCE!
How to deal with...the non-commitment buyer and why can't you close them? I want YOU THE BUYER to appear to be out...only for a walk! The Dealer hasn't a clue who you are shopping for? Become the most secretive person, viewing several cars, on the best Dealers lot in your City, the more experience he has...the better car you will get, understand this? If not give me an email!
You come in with your Consumers Digest, and note book, and you leave having become the Pro you need to be. You inspect the two...or three vehicles you can see your self buying, and you take on the same detail... the Government Meat Inspectors look for when inspecting meat.
Next day you return asking to drive the two best vehicles meeting your needs in your view...you are the Expert right? You head for the local Jiffy Lube, or other facility with a hoist, and tell the service man, if he would be kind enough to view the under carriage, checking for leaks, or other possible problems. They will be only to happy to accommodate you...after all you are expected to become a customer!
You are ready for the kill...you ask for the best price on the two cars you have driven. You may have a preference, but...you are careful not to show it. And when the sales person returns...it will normally be with a groan...you're taking food off his table. And he offers you...$400 to possibly $500 off the windshield price...if you buy today! You thank him for his time...and depart without looking back, and mention you have a couple of lots yet to visit!
Tomorrow is delivery day, you return at or near closing and make a $1200 offer off the windshield price and you state you are prepared to take delivery NOW! He will take no more than a couple of minutes, and annouce you have bought you a Car! Wasn't that easy? And you saved $1200 off his price and it's finalized after having your Mechanic check the vehicle tomorrow. It's not rocket science...it's being a patient informed buyer! Right?
